To find a local support group, attend HSA meetings and YMCA* homeschool classes, and ask everyone you meet to introduce you to other homeschoolers.  If you live in the Puyallup area and are interested in 4-H, ask the county extension agents for a referral to Puyallup's large homeschooling 4-H  Club.  Contact WHO and WATCH; they each maintain a list of support groups in our state, but the task is frankly like mapping needles in a haystack that keeps shifting.  Barely 2% of American families educate our own children; in Washington, membership in any organization is entirely voluntary and organizations typically cannot afford much advertising.

* Morgan (Pearl St.), Lakewood and Korum (Puyallup) branches of YMCA offer homeschool aquatics and fitness classes; parents are expected to volunteer some time as assistants, nursery workers, or teachers.  A choir meets at the Lakewood branch.
